Good morning! 

The farm has been bustling with activity the last few weeks as spring is here in full force. I thought that I would carve out a few minutes to send a quick update on two of the projects that have been going on!

Bunker Wall Teardown

As you may have noticed if you've been to the farm in the last few days, the guys just got the old bunker wall tore down last week! The bunker was the tall concrete wall that you could see as you drove up the lane to our farm.

This is where the corn silage for the cows was stored when we were a commercial dairy farm of around 200 cows. Back in the day, the silage would be piled clear up above the wall!

Now that it hasn't been in use for quite a few years, it was time for it to go to make room for other things! Trent has been hard at work the last several weeks cleaning up scrap metal and other junk that the wall was hiding. It was finally time to take down the wall and the guys got it done in a hurry!

Ahh, isn't that pretty!

It sure is nice to be able to see out to the pastures from my office window. It also changes the look of the farm coming up our lane - hopefully for the better!😀

We're planning to move some of the equipment that is close to the lane over to this spot to open up room for other things.

New Farm Flyer!

Meanwhile Philip has been hard at work in the office creating a new flyer for our farm! 

We have a good supply of milk and eggs right now and are planning on increasing our milk production significantly over the next couple of months, so we thought now would be a great time to get a flyer out there! 

It's been fun getting input from the family on the flyer and we've gone through lots of revisions! I think the final version turned out great and I'm really excited about getting it out there for people to learn about our farm.
