- 6 Tbsp. maple syrup or honey*
- Scant 1/4 c. cocoa powder
- 2 dashes salt
- 1/2 c. water
- 6 c. milk (can add part cream for a richer drink)
- 1 1/8 tsp. vanilla
Mix maple syrup or honey (and stevia, if using), cocoa, salt, and water. Bring to a boil while whisking; boil 2 minutes. Whisk in milk and heat (We usually heat the cocoa to 155-160 degrees). Do not boil. Add vanilla. Serve with whipped cream. Enjoy!
*We like to use some stevia in our hot cocoa. If using stevia, use 1/4 c. maple syrup or honey and 1/16 tsp. stevia.
