Tantalizing Tongue
Eating tongue is hard no longer! Enjoy this simple recipe!

Ingredients

  • (2 1 /2#) Beef Tongue
  • (2 1/2 t.) Sea Salt
  • (1 t.) Thyme
  • (1) Bay Leaf
  • (4 T.) Butter or Lard
  • (2 medium) Onions
  • (1 C.) Celery
  • (4 c.) Broth
  • (4) cloves of garlic, minced
  • (1 t.) Garlic Powder
  • (1 t.) Black Pepper
  • Garlic cloves to stuff in tongue

Directions

  1. Saute onions and celery in butter.
  2. Add minced garlic.
  3. Poke holes in tongue, and stuff in the garlic cloves.
  4. Place tongue in pot and pour veggies, seasonings, and broth over top.
  5. Cover, and boil for two hours.
  6. When the tongue is finished, take it out and let it cool.
  7. Peel the tongue and slice.
  8. Serve and enjoy!!
